My wonderful friend Lauren is expecting a baby boy this June. Today, we had a work shower for her. I was not the only host, but they gave me full control over decor. I decided after I saw a super cute baby shower idea on Bump Smitten, that I would steal their idea and do a book/owl shower. I also decided to do it as cheaply as possible. I used two vases I already owned, spent 3.99 on flowers, bought a very expensive but cute cake for 45.00 and made the rest. I took one 2.00 Best American Plays book I had in my classroom and proceeded to rip it to shreds. I made the cute book flower balls seen above using 0.00 in supplies.

his gift bag. Traced an owl and used the book to collage it.
I used books I had and covered them with brown paper. I then added cute titles “I remember wearing makeup” “Why babies cry” “And puppy dog tails” other cute mom things.
I made a garland that spelled his name on book squares.
And made a ton of owl confetti that had to be punched one and a time. I bought the little brown owls for 1.00 each at Target, and spray painted them chocolate.
Totally adorable baby shower
